When The Future Feels Uncertain

Not knowing what comes next can feel unsettling. You might be in a transition, waiting for clarity, or trying to figure out your next step. When the future feels unclear, it’s easy to feel restless, anxious, or disconnected from the present moment. These feelings are a natural response to change and uncertainty. You don’t need all the answers right now. Sometimes the most supportive thing you can do is stay grounded in where you are.

Reflection Prompts

  • What feels most uncertain in my life right now?

  • What thoughts come up when I think about the future?

  • What parts of my life feel stable, even when things feel unclear?

  • What has helped me get through uncertainty in the past?

  • What would it feel like to focus on today instead of everything ahead?

Practices to Try Now

  • Take 5 slow breaths and notice where your body feels supported

  • Write down what is within your control today or one small next step

  • Step outside for fresh air or take a short walk

  • Remind yourself you don’t need all the answers right now

Ways to Use Prompts

These prompts are here to support self-reflection and awareness. You can move through them in whatever way feels most helpful to you. You might choose to write your thoughts in a journal, use your phone’s Notes app, or simply reflect quietly in your mind. Some people also like to explore these prompts through voice notes or supportive AI tools for additional perspective. If you’re a member, you can also save your entries in 'My Journal' to keep everything in one place. Use them to check in with yourself, notice patterns, clarify what you are feeling, and understand what feels true for you in the moment. Move through these prompts at your own pace and in the way that feels most supportive for you.
