When You're Feeling Angry or Frustrated

Anger and frustration can show up when you feel unheard, overwhelmed, stuck, or treated unfairly. Sometimes they come from stress, boundaries being crossed, unmet needs, or situations that feel out of your control. These emotions don’t mean something is wrong with you. They usually mean something inside you is asking for attention. You don’t have to fix the feeling right away. It’s okay to acknowledge it, let it exist, and find a safe way to release what you’re carrying.

Reflection Prompts

  • What happened to bring up feelings of anger and frustration?

  • What part of this situation feels the most frustrating?

  • Where do I feel this anger or frustration in my body?

  • Is this anger protecting something important?

  • What do I need more of right now: space, rest, clarity, or support?

  • What boundary might need to be stronger?

  • What would help me release some of this tension?

Practices to Try Now

  • Take 5 slow, deep breaths and unclench your jaw and shoulders

  • Move your body in a short, physical way (walk, stretch, shake it out)

  • Put on music and let yourself release some tension

  • Write out what you’re feeling without editing yourself
